Into the darkness.

No, seriously, it's pitch dark out there! I can't tell you how many times I almost careered head first into a ditch this morning on my 4am run. Although, that's nothing compared to the number of times I mistook a hedge or a leaf on the road for something about to eat me/kill me with an axe - why does the darkness suddenly do away with all ability to think rationally?
Anyway, I'm still alive but probably only because it was a short 5 mile run. I can't quite get my head round the fact my marathon is a mere 11 days away...look!

So, the last bits of prep are under way... tapering runs have started, marathon playlist is being put together (v.important!), I'm currently figuring out exactly my meal plan for next week, especially Friday/Saturday as the last thing I want is for my recent dodgy gut functions to get in the way on marathon day (I know, I'm just too attractive for words sometimes!). What's more, my Combat Stress running vest has been ordered.....and, very excitingly, a little bit about my fundraising efforts is going to be put in the Forfar Dispatch and Kirrie Herald tomorrow! I'm now over my fundraising target which has astounded me because, even when I set it, I had my doubts, so to be sitting at £525 not including Gift Aid is amazing - thank you again to all the wonderful people who have donated.

Not long now! From the relieved-not-to-have-been-murdered-this-morning runner :)
