Sleep deprivation works.
Who would have thought! My lethal combination of caffeine, sugar, no sleep and 18 miles in the rain was a success! Hardly even noticed the miles passing, something to do with a very high level of mental distraction when your on coffee, methinks (although, slight bouts of the fear every time I heard particularly heavy raindrops behind me and imagined some axe murderer lurking a few steps behind... is this normal?).
Anyway, axe murderers aside, I'm chuffed with 2h53m, making my first 'proper' long distance run a 9:30min/mile one, woo!
Another pro for my Costa debate - the one which weighs up just how healthy it is to drink several gallons a week...
Next run's an easy tomorrow so I'm all happy and content with life...let's see how long it lasts!
